“Life is like art. You have to work hard to keep it simple and still have meaning. ”

About Joan
Joan Bonetti comes from a long line of visual artists. She mainly works in oils, but over the years has mastered pastels, watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media. Her work and style are wide-ranging from supporting commission requests from portraiture to large-scale abstractions.
Joan is a keen observer of people and everyday life. She strives to have her artwork serve as a record of those observations. Her passion for textures, patterns, the interplay of light, color, and space continues to be a never-ending source of inspiration.

Went for a cafe latte and pear torta at the infamous Caffe San Marco in Trieste, Italy this morning. Established in 1914, it was destroyed by a bomb in WWII, rebuilt and was then became the meeting place of the greatest writers and artists. ❤️😍 🇮🇹

While in Denmark we had the pleasure of meeting, and dining with Anne Eistrup and Ole. Anne is a distant cousin on my grandfather, Edmund Christiansen’s side. As is the family tradition she is an accomplished artist. Evidence here…I showed her this photo I had of Ember and she asked if she could paint it. Such a beautiful rendition of granddaughter ❤️🇩🇰. Thank you, Anne, more than I can express!

Most doors in the maze of streets in Mykonos, Greece are painted a beautiful bright color. Next to the freshly painted Lyme white walls…just stunning. #artistinvacation #celebritycruises #artforsalebyartist

Day at Sea, 3.5x5”, watercolor on paper. We’re at sea today, sailing from Sicily last night to Santorini, Greece tomorrow. The blue of the ocean is hard to capture. I believe the deep blue is Prussian but there is also cerulean in the highlights. And it is, of course, always changing. #cruiseandpaint #artistonvacation

My Uncle Egon is a talented artist. He took up paint a few years ago…at the tender age of 90! ❤️🇩🇰❤️🇩🇰

The back of The Little Mermaid statue (it’s all you get when you take a harbor cruise), having a little chat with the man himself, Hans Christian Andersen, walking through Nyhavn, and my own little Pølser cart (hotdog).

First breakfast in Copenhagen at our hotel was…well, for lack of a better word…orgasmic! So so good! #københavn #backtomyroots #artistonvacation

Flying from Germany into Denmark, I don’t remember ever having been taken by the beauty of this country from above. I’m in love all over again. Our lodging, Kong Arthur Hotel, is so charming. Looking forward to a full day of exploring Nyhavn 😍🇩🇰
